The Aegean Coast is characterized by azure blue inlets and beautiful beaches, set against a backdrop of olive orchards, rock formations and pine forests. Thanks to picturesque fishing villages, diverse holiday spots, wonderful natural scenery, and many ancient remains, this region is a top destination for sun lovers, nature lovers, active holiday makers as well as keen photographers. This region has a diversity of culture, nature, beaches, charming seaside resorts, and spectacular sights to offer. Kusadasi is the tourist heart. Kusadasi literally means bird island. It is a modern, frequented seaside resort on the west coast. It is also a famous cruise port. In the harbour area in particular, you will find a melting pot of cultures, boats, and stalls selling all sorts of goods. However, it’s the ancient sights that make Kusadasi a famous city. Another important town along the Aegean Coast is Bodrum. Here, you will find the archaeological museum and a mediaeval fortress. Situated on an inlet, this town offers many diving opportunities, and from here you may visit the Greek island of Kos. A visit to the Aegean Sea is not complete, unless you visit the lime cascade cliffs of Pamukkale and Efes. Efes is better known as Ephese. Many remains of this city are reminders of the ancient Greek times. Such as the Celsus Library. Other important seaside resorts include Bodrum, Dalaman, Marmaris, Fethiye, and Izmir. There is much more to do and see along the Aegean Coast than we can mention here. You will just have to go and see for yourself!
