Destination Catalonia Inland/Pyrenees, Spain

A truly beautiful destination is the natural park 'Parque Nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido'. Its various walking routes are great for walking enthusiasts.

The ancient pilgrims way 'Camino de Santiago' also runs through the Pyrenees, through mountains, forests, over hills and along mountain villages, monasteries and Roman churches. The national park 'Parque Nacional d'Aigüestortes' lies a little more to the east. Here you will find granite peaks, coniferous forests, streams and waterfalls.

The scenery and wildlife can not only be explored on foot, but also by mountain bike, canoe or on horseback. Or would you prefer to take to the sky? In that case, paragliding or a hot air balloon trip are good options. Winter sports enthusiasts can take to the slopes of the Pyrenees, in ski resorts such as Baqueira/Beret, Boí-Taüll, Jaca, Astun or Candanchu.

Catalonia has an alternate landscape full of contrasts. Inland,you will find beautiful nature reserves and centuries old towns. But, even the snow covered mountaintops and green valleys of the Pyrenees. The Catalonian coast is more than 500 km long and consists of the popular Costa Brava and Costa Dorada.
