Orléans is a larger place in this region, where you can experience the wealth of the French history. Not only can you visit the Sainte-Croix cathedral here, but also the Saint-Gatien or the basilica of Saint-Martin. In the thirteenth century this town was the intellectual capital of France and many painters and poets would gather to the centre, where the Royal court was located in the past. The Royal family never stayed long in the same place, which is why there are so many castles along the Loire now. Tours is also a popular city with the tourists. For the more authentic life you need to go to places like Amboise, Blois, Saumur and Beaugency, which you can visit at a rather short distance from your holiday home.

Active or relaxed, you will enjoy the holiday you wished for here. Active on the golf course, in or on the water, on horse back, walking or cycling - it is all possible here. Or you could go parachute jumping or paragliding. This region is characterised by its fabulous nature, with regional parks where you can make great walking or cycling trips.
