Just above the Provence is the region of Drôme, around the larger cities Montélimar and Valence. A gorgeous region for a holiday, because you will find pretty lavender fields, small picturesque villages and great cities here.
Valence is the capital of the Drôme and is located on the left bank of the Rhone. The old inner city with many squares and terraces, attractive shopping streets and Provencal markets, make it a joy to stroll around on a hot summer's evening. The other large city in the region is of course Montélimar with its famous nougat. Here too you will find the pleasant atmosphere of the car-free neighbourhoods, a great destination for young and old. Book your holiday home here and enjoy the French way of life.
Nature lovers can make short and long walks here. You can even go on one of the themed walks in the region, where you will learn about the landscapes you walk through. Other sporty types can of course go cycling, golfing, water sporting or mountain climbing. The rocks in the Drôme are a great area for climbers. There are around forty places for great climbs, with different levels of difficulty. There are many opportunities for active fun. In winter you can even hit the slopes here. After an active day you can relax in your holiday home in the Drôme.
You will make the most special excursions from our holiday homes in the Drôme. There are various animal- and leisure parks on offer for a day out with or without the kids. There is a crocodile farm and a ‘Monde Merveilleux des Lutins’, a magic world with elves, gnomes and other fantasy characters. There is enough to do in the Drôme for young and old. Taste the regional produce on the local markets, like lamb, lavender, truffles, olives and of course the delicious French wines. And take some home to your holiday home for a cosy night in with snacks and drinks.
