- Also located in Ettal: Schlo? Linderhoff, Ludwig II?s intimate castle, constructed according to the plan of the Petit Trianon in Versailles. The castle has a picturesque park with fountains, Venus grotto and a Moorish kiosk.
- The village of Schwangau, with he fairy tale castle of Neuschwanstein, again Ludwig II?s castle, and the caslte that was the model for the Cinderella castle at Disneyland.
- On the Chiemsee, on the island of Herrenchiemsee, you will find the castle of Herrenchiemsee, Ludwig II?s third castle, and an imitation of the palace of Versailles.
- Berchtesgaden National Park. This park has special flora and fauna and can be discovered on foot or bicycle, via an extensive network of routes.
- Schönau am Königsee: You can visit the Königsee lake from here. You can take a boat ride from Seelände over the lake, including to the St. Bartholomä peninsula, where you will find the 12th century pilgrimage church of the same name, a beautiful location!
