Lake Como. The most diverse and impressive lake of northern Italy is Lake Como. Along its shores you will find villas, gardens, and country villages. Further afield the scenery consists of forested hills and rugged mountains.
Lake Garda. Lake Garda is the most popular destination of the Italian Lakes. There are many options here for a good time. Besides the many walking and water sports options, you can also visit picturesque villages and theme parks such as Gardaland and Canevaworld. It’s also quite easy to visit cities such as Milan, Verona, and Venice from Lake Garda.
TIP: The car-free village of Sirmione is situated on a peninsula in Lake Como. The only way to get there, is via a foot bridge. This romantic place not only has a 13th century fairy-tale castle with high turrets, a draw bridge and battlements, it also offers endless narrow and winding lanes where you can wander around for hours.
Lake Maggiore. Sports enthusiasts will have a great time here, as there is plenty to do on the lake. Water skiing, wind surfing, sailing, delta flying – it’s all possible! But lovers of nature and culture can also have a wonderful time here!
