Limburg too is known for it's unique net work of cycle routes along numerous beauty spots. Orchards, pasture, woods and heather landscapes are interchanged with one another.
The Haspengouw district is the famous flower region, where the well known flower festival "Bloesemfeesten" is held. For the water sport fanatics there's Maasland with sailing, wind surfing, kayaking and water skiing. It's also a great region for walking. A region really worth discovering.
Between Maastricht and Liège is the Voerstreek, a very unique part of Flanders. This region is made up of six picturesque villages: Moelingen, 's-Gravenvoeren, Sint-Martens-Voeren, Sint-Pieters-Voeren, Teuven and Remersdaal. The landscape is rolling, with vast forests, meadows, rivers, typical half-timbered houses, and here and there a castle or farmstead. This area is a paradise for hikers and cyclists, and there is more than enough peace and beautiful natural scenery for your holiday. During one of your field trips you can try one of the unique local products, such as traditionally prepared apple and pear syrup (similar to molasses), blackthorn gin, Rick’s cherry beer, wine, Herve cheese and koningskoek (a kind of biscuit). If you feel like going to the city, then make a field trip to Liège, Maastricht or Aachen.
