Destination Majorca, Spain

Mallorca, the largest Balearic island, is a wonderful holiday island, with it's Mediterranean sea climate and diverse scenery, where the sun shines for more than 300 days a year!

The coastline is very diverse – you will find the Sierra del Norte in the northwest with its rugged mountains and chalk cliffs. The west coast and the northern side have spectacular rugged rock formations and sheer cliffs to offer. Especially in the eastern resorts such as Porto Cristo and Cala d'Or you will find numerous picturesque bays, which can also be reached by boat. For really long beach walks, however, you should go to the southwest coast. Lively night life can be found in the busy tourist centre around Palma de Mallorca in the south east.

The island’s diversity makes Majorca an ideal holiday destination for anyone. The clean beaches are safe, well kept and child-friendly. Ramblers and cyclists can have a wonderful time enjoying the bird and nature reserves as well as the natural park near Alculdia. If you are looking for action, rest assured that there are plenty of options for diving, horse riding, and golfing.

A great way to get to know the island is by car. Don't forget the Cap Formentor and the mountain chain "Sierra de Tramuntana" in the west, with exciting mountains and breathtaking views. Authentic towns and villages, where traditions and ancient customs still rule the scene, characterize the interior.

TIP: Majorca also has a lot to offer to those in search of the countryside. Euro Relais offers old farmers’ country houses that are well situated and where food is still prepared by the home owner using fresh local produce.
