You will find both great seaside spots for the family and lively places to go out. In the beautiful hunter lands you will find lovely villages and countless walking and cycling routes. And don't forget the beautiful historic towns such as Bruges and Kortrijk.
Bruges, “Venice of the North”, is a beautiful medieval city full of charm. The historic centre has been added to the list of Unesco world heritage sites. Stroll through its cobbled streets, make a tour by boat through its canals and discover the monuments and sights such as The Belfry, the City Hall, the Fish Market, the Beguinage and the romantic ‘Minnewater’ (Lake of Love).
The ‘Westhoek’ (‘West Corner’) is situated in the region West Flanders, bordered to the Flemish Coast and France. The region has a lovely green countryside with hills, polders, wide landscapes, charming villages and small historic towns. It is an ideal place for walkers and cyclers. But the region is known as the Flanders Fields Country and was one of the battlefields of the Great War. The best know city here is Ypres (Ieper).
